Women's Cross Country Places Sixth at Codfish Bowl

BOSTON, MA - The Merrimack Cross Country teams competed at the Codfish Bowl in Franklin Park, MA Saturday, with the men finishing fourth overall and the women placing sixth.

After winning last week's meet in Manchester, NH, Jefferson Welch (Haverhill, MA ) posted Merrimack's top time at 27:00, finishing eighth overall. Nicholas Santoro (Shrewsbury, MA) placed 16^th, 24 seconds behind Welch.

Greater Boston TC won the men's race, with NYIT placing second.

Katelyn Meagher (Mansfield, MA) led the way for the Warriors, finishing 30^th in a time of 20:47. Jennifer Richard (Wendell, MA) was right behind her finishing 33^rd in 21:09.

Greater Boston TC also won the women's run, with Phillips Andover the runner-up.

The cross country team will compete next at the New England Championships in Franklin Park on October 6^th.
