
RINDGE, NH – The Merrimack women’s soccer team,
ranked 21st in the nation and third in the east region, dropped a
defensive battle to 15th-ranked Franklin Pierce 1-0 Saturday
afternoon in a battle for first place in the Northeast-10.
Gabriella Demoner scored her sixth goal of the season at 2:58 as
she fired a low dribbler from the right channel that trickled past
Shannon Rowan (Fair Haven, NJ) for the
game’s lone goal.
The Ravens outshot Merrimack 9-6 in the game with each goalkeeper
stopping just one shot.
Merrimack (11-3-2, 9-3-1 NE-10) closes out regular season play at
American International on Tuesday. The Warriors will host a
Northeast-10 Quarterfinal match next Sunday (time/opponent TBA).
