Cindric, Lorenz and Pickert Earn Northeast-10 Weekly Awards

SOUTH EASTON, MA – With wins over Southern Connecticut,
Pace and UMass Lowell last week, the Merrimack volleyball team
earned three of the four weekly Player of the Week honors awarded
by the Northeast-10 Conference.
Molly Cindric (Westlake Village, CA) was named
the Player of the Week for the second time this season. Last
year’s Freshman of the Year, Cindric averaged 4.5 kills and
4.8 digs in 10 games. She tallied 29 digs, 22 kills, three service
aces, three assists and two blocks in a 3-2 win over Lowell.
Elyse Lorenz (Frankfort, IL) earned Setter of the
Week honors. Lorenz averaged 11.42 assists per game for a total of
137 assists in 12 games. She added a team-high 10 aces and chipped
in with 22 digs, five kills and two blocks.
Alyssa Pickert (Tinley Park, IL) picked up the
Libero of the Week award, tallying 7.4 digs per game for a total of
89 in 12 games. She was instrumental in Wednesday’s
come-from-behind win over the River Hawks.
The Warriors are ranked sixth in the first edition of the NCAA
East Regional rankings, released last week. Merrimack (13-7, 8-0
NE-10) is at Assumption Tuesday (7 p.m.) before hosting Southern
New Hampshire Friday (7 p.m.) and Stonehill Saturday (1 p.m.).
