Volleyball Cruises to 3-0 Win Over Saint Anselm

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack volleyball team snapped
a three-match losing streak, defeating Saint Anselm 3-0 Wednesday
night at the Volpe Gym.
Game scores were 25-11, 25-15, 25-13.
Lisa Barr (Alberta, Canada) paced the Warriors
with 15 kills, the only player from both teams in double-digits for
kills. She added three service aces and hit .480. Ale
Kuncaitis (Canton, MA) had four of Merrimack’s 12
service aces and posted a game-high 12 digs. Megan Murray
(Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) added five kills and two
block assists in the final two sets, while Jamie Doerrier
(Bay Shore, NY) came in for the third set and performed
admirably, getting three kills, three aces and one block
assist.
Merrimack hit .361 overall, committing just 13 attack errors, to
its 39 kills and 12 service aces. They came out flying, hitting
.542 in the first set, led by seven kills from Barr.
Charlotte Tencza had seven of Saint Anselm’s 18 kills. The
Hawks committed 16 attack errors, 12 receiving errors, and eight
service errors as they dropped to 2-8 overall, 0-4 in the
conference.
The Warriors (8-7, 3-0 NE-10) visit American International on
Saturday (1 p.m.).
