Volleyball Cruises to 3-0 Win Sunday

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Ale Kuncaitis (Canton, MA) posted her third straight double-double, leading Merrimack to a straight set victory over Saint Michael’s College in the team’s home opener at the Volpe Gym.

Game scores were 25-17, 25-15, 25-13.

Kuncaitis totaled 13 kills and 14 digs, while Elyse Lorenz (Frankfort, IL) tallied 43 assists and three aces. Alyssa Pickert (Tinley Park, IL) had a team-best 17 digs, while Heidi Wroblicky (Irvine, CA) added ten. The Warriors made just nine attack errors and hit .356 for the match, compared to .132 for the Purple Knights.

The Warriors (7-4, 2-0 NE-10), who were perfect at home last season, continue their home schedule against regional power Dowling on Friday (7 p.m.). Dowling eliminated the Warriors from the NCAA Tournament last season and advanced to the Elite Eight after winning the Northeast Regional Tournament.
