Volleyball Drops Thriller to Georgian Court 3-2
LOWELL, MA - In a battle of two NCAA Tournament teams from last season, the Warriors dropped a very close match to Georgian Court 3-2 Friday night.
Game scores were 22-25, 27-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-13.
Molly Cindric (Westlake Village, CA) and Ale Kuncaitis (Canton, MA) each posted double-doubles, as Cindric tallied 14 kills and 13 digs, while Kuncaitis posted 11 kills and digs. Elyse Lorenz (Frankfort, IL) added a season-high 46 assists and five service aces, while Alyssa Pickert (Tinley Park, IL) tallied 26 digs. Also chipping in were Kristin Applegate (Hampstead, NH) with 13 kills and Lisa Barr (Alberta, Canada) with 10 kills. Heidi Wroblicky (Irvine, CA) reached double figures in digs with 11.
Merrimack committed just 13 attack errors in the five-set battle, hitting .247 overall.
The Warriors (2-4) will take on Lowell and Franklin Pierce Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at UMass Lowell in a pair of non-conference matches.
