
SEASIDE, CA. - The Merrimack volleyball team fell to North Dakota 3-0 Saturday afternoon before taking down host CSU Monterey 3-1 late Saturday night for its first victory in 2008.
Merrimack fell to UND 25-16, 25-18, 25-15 and fell to 0-3 on the season before edging CSU Monterey 25-17, 20-25, 25-23, 25-19.
The Warriors hit just .022 as a team, getting nine kills from Molly Cindric (Westlake Village, CA). Elyse Lorenz (Frankfort, IL) added 19 assists and five digs against North Dakota.
In the second match, Lisa Barr (Alberta, Canada) picked up five kills leading Merrimack to the 25-17 win in the first set. Cindric had 17 kills and 16 digs, while Ale Kuncaitis (Canton, MA) posted 14 kills and 20 digs. Lorenz totaled 47 assists and 10 digs.
Saint Anselm will take on Merrimack (1-3) on September 10 in Manchester, NH
