WORCESTER, MA – The Merrimack women’s tennis team
used strong doubles play to jump to a 3-0 lead before defeating
Assumption College 7-2 Wednesday afternoon.
Caitlin Dunn led the way, teaming with
Amanda Carroll for an 8-0 doubles victory, before
winning #1 singles 7-5, 2-6, 10-7. Christina Lucin
followed Dunn up in #2 singles with a 6-0, 6-3 victory and
partnered with Brittany Holmes for an 8-6 doubles
win. Courtney Garvey and Elise
Dufour finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-4 victory.
Garvey also won her singles match, 6-0, 6-2, as did Carroll, 6-3,
6-0.
The Warriors (8-6, 7-2 NE-10) visit Saint Anselm Thursday at 3:30
p.m.
