Women's Tennis Has Winning Streak Snapped
MANCHESTER, NH – The Merrimack women’s tennis team
saw its three-game winning streak snapped Monday, 5-4 by Southern
New Hampshire.
The Warriors won two out of three doubles’ matches,
featuring an 8-1 win from Brittany Holmes and
Nora Cahill, but only Amanda
Carroll and Courtney Garvey picked up
singles’ victories, with Carroll battling Lauren Nigrelli to
three sets, winning the third 7-5.
The win puts the Penmen (10-2) ahead of the Warriors (6-2) in
the Northeast-10 standings.
Merrimack (7-5, 6-2 NE-10) visits Assumption Wednesday for a 3:30
p.m. match.
