#22 Women's Soccer to Host UMass Lowell Sunday at 1 p.m. in NE-10 Quarterfinals

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack women’s soccer team, seeded third in the conference and ranked 22nd in the nation, will host the sixth-seeded River Hawks of UMass-Lowell on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.
The Warriors come into the matchup with a 10-3-1 conference
record, sporting a 12-3-2 record overall. The River Hawks posted a
6-3-5 conference mark, part of their overall record of 7-4-5.
The game is a rematch of last season’s NCAA 1st round game,
won by Merrimack 1-0 thanks to Ashley
Alnwick’s goal. The two teams met earlier in the
season in Lowell, playing to a 1-1 tie through two overtime
sessions. It was one of the River Hawks’ conference-high five
ties this season.
Merrimack is led by junior Gabrielle Gramprey who
has tallied 13 goals and 8 assists on the season. UMass-Lowell will
try to rally around senior captain Grace Larsen.
If Merrimack wins Sunday, they will either travel to second-seed
Saint Rose or host seventh-seed New Haven on Thursday.
