NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack women’s soccer
team picked up its sixth win in seven matches Saturday, defeating
Southern Connecticut State University 1-0 at Warrior Field.
Merrimack struck early, as Kerri Domohowski lobbed
a shot off goaltender Katie DiDio into the back corner of net for
her second of the season, unassisted.
That was enough for goalkeeper Shannon Rowan, who
stopped seven shots in goal for the clean sheet. The Owls out shot
Merrimack 16-11 in the game, forcing Rowan to make five second-half
saves.
Merrimack (8-2-2, 6-2-1 NE-10) hosts Stonehill on Monday (1 p.m.)
in a rematch of last season’s Northeast-10 Quarterfinal which
the Warriors won 3-0.
