Womens Soccer Blanks Saint Michaels 2-0

COLCHESTER, VT – The Merrimack women’s soccer team,
ranked sixth in the east region, won its fourth match in its last
five chances with a 2-0 victory over Saint Michael’s
Wednesday afternoon.
Jesse DeGraan (Braintree, MA) and Brittany
Gustafson (East Hampton, CT) each scored their third of
the season in the first half in the win, while Shannon
Rowan (Fair Haven, NJ) stopped one shot in goal for her
second straight clean sheet.
DeGraan’s goal at 21:17 was assisted by Gabrielle
Gramprey (Brockton, MA). Just 16 minutes later, the
Warriors got the insurance they needed when Gustafson added an
unassisted tally.
Merrimack outshot the Purple Knights 13-5, forcing Ashleigh Adams
to make four saves.
This game was delayed about 45 minutes due to lightning in the
Colchester area.
Merrimack (6-2-2, 4-2-1 NE-10) hosts Le Moyne on Saturday at 1:30
p.m. at Warrior Field.
