NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Gabrielle Gramprey (Brockton,
MA) scored twice Wednesday night leading the Merrimack
women’s soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Bentley
College.
Playing in their first home game after five road games to start
the season, the Warriors struck early as Gramprey notched her
team-best third of the season, driving into the box and driving a
shot past Falcon netminder Kara Smith in the eighth minute.
Lindsey deMont (Littleton, MA) notched the assist
on Gramprey’s goal, her second helper of the year.
Gramprey’s insurance marker came in the 85th minute as she
one-timed a pretty feed from Jessie DeGraan (Braintree,
MA) past Smith for her second of the game, fourth of the
year.
Merrimack dominated the ball for the majority of the game, as
Shannon Rowan (Fair Haven, NJ) did not have to
make a save until the 77th minute. They outshot Bentley 18-5 in the
match.
The Warriors had numerous second-half chances off corners,
including a header from Jessica Peacock (Hopedale,
MA) that glanced off the near post.
Merrimack (3-1-2, 1-1-1 NE-10) hosts Pace on Saturday (3:30 p.m.)
at Warrior Field.
