Women’s Soccer Gets 3-1 Win over Molloy

COLCHESTER, VT - The Merrimack women's soccer team picked up three second-half goals to down Molloy College 3-1 Friday at the Doubletree Classic.

Junior Gabrielle Gramprey (Brockton, MA) got the Warriors on the board in the 62nd minute, while sophomore Carissa Gildea (Enfield, CT) scored her first goal in her first game as a Warrior in the 68th minute to put the game away. Captain Nikki Abruzzese (Morris Plains, NJ) earned assists on both goals.

Freshman Kara Hennigan (Pawtucket, RI) notched her first collegiate goal late in the game with her classmate Alysse Corolla (Winthrop, MA) earning her first career point.

Molloy's Charlotte Laurie ruined Shannon Rowan's (Fair Haven, NJ) shutout in the 89th minute as Merrimack outshot Molloy 18-3.

In the earlier game, host Saint Michael's defeated Felician College 6-0. The DoubleTree Kickoff Classic continues tomorrow with Merrimack (1-0) taking on Felician at 10 a.m., and Saint Michael's taking on Molloy at 12 p.m.
