Womens Lacrosse Wraps up 4th Place with 24-4 Win over SCSU

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack women’s lacrosse
team clinched fourth place in the Northeast-10 with a 24-4 win over
Southern Connecticut Saturday on Senior Day at Warrior Field.
With the win, the Warriors (7-7, 7-3 NE-10) will host a
Northeast-10 Quarterfinal game on Tuesday likely against Bentley.
Game time is to be announced.
In all, 11 different players scored for the Warriors, including
all three seniors. For Jennifer Fox and
Meaghan Winters, it was their first goals of the
season.
Merrimack scored nine times in the first 10:57, with Kelly
Pasquantonio netting three of them. They led 15-3 at half
behind six first-half points from Mia Basile and
five from Lauren Leddy.
Leddy finished with eight points, while Mia Basile had five goals
and nine points. Meredith Prior tallied three
points, and Colleen Strachan scored twice.
Jamie-Lee Whiteway stopped seven shots in the
win, Merrimack’s fourth straight.
Before the game, the Warriors honored their three-member senior
class, Jennifer Fox, Meaghan Winters, and Lauren Leddy as part of
Senior Day.
