Tonight's game: The Warriors open a five-game road trip at Stonehill College Wednesday night.

Last season: Stonehill took both games last season against the Warriors, including a 76-45 defeat in Easton on February 23.

All-Time Series: Stonehill has won 55 of the 62 all-time meetings between the two teams and has captured the last seven meetings dating back to the 2004-05 season.

Recapping last week: The Merrimack women’s basketball team dropped a close battle with Southern New Hampshire 54-52 Monday night at the Volpe Gym. The Warriors had the last shot down two, 54-52 with nine seconds remaining after Stephanie Houghton missed two free throws, but Amanda Shannon’s buzzer-beating jumper was blocked. Merrimack trailed by as much as nine in the second half but cut the lead to two with 1:26 to play after two free throws from Shannon. After the Penmen extended the lead to 54-49, Tiffany Colon drained a three-pointer to cut the lead to two. But after two missed free throws from the visitors, Shannon’s final shot was blocked. Shannon, who tallied 15 of Merrimack’s 30 second-half points, needs 15 points to reach 1,000 in her career. Colon finished with 11 points and eight boards, while Hannah DeGraffinreed added grabbed nine boards.

The Amanda Shannon 1,000-point watch: Senior captain Amanda Shannon comes into tonight's game with 985 career points and will become the 16th member of the Merrimack 1,000 point club and the first since the 2004-2005 season to be inducted into the exclusive club.

More Shannon: Shannon averages 20.4 points per game, second only to Franklin Pierce’s Johannah Leedham in the Northeast-10. Her 37.6 minutes per game rank first in the conference.

Rookie impact: Freshman Hannah DeGraffinreed leads the conference with 10.2 rebounds per game. She has tallied two double-doubles, including a 17 point, 13 rebound performance in a 81-70 win over Dowling.
