Merrimack Athletics Unveils Championship Banners

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – In paying tribute to Merrimack's rich athletic tradition, Merrimack student-athletes helped unveil team championship banners surrounding the Volpe Athletic Complex on Friday.
The ten blue and gold banners commemorate Merrimack’s
Northeast-10 Championships, NCAA Tournament berths, ECAC and
National Championships.
Among the representatives for Merrimack Athletics were men’s
ice hockey captains, senior Pat Bowen (Marshfield,
MA) and junior Chris Barton
(Calgary, Alta.); seniors softball players
Jill Bradford (Stoneham, MA), Emily
Cummings (Andover, MA) and Atlee Cahill
(Gloucester, MA); senior baseball players
Dylan Ellis (Gloucester, MA) and
Ryan McNeil (Lynnfield, MA); and
members of the men’s tennis team: junior Tim
McHugh (Edgartown, MA) and sophomore
Max Eppley (Malaga, Spain).
Notable teams flying banners around the Volpe Complex are the
softball National Champions of 1994 and the men’s ice hockey
National Champions (D-II) of 1978.
