Softball Concludes Florida Trip with Pair of Losses to #25 Rollins

ORLANDO, FL - The Merrimack softball team concluded its trip to
Florida with 2-0 and 5-0 losses to #25 Rollins College Friday
night.
Merrimack finishes with seven wins in 12 games in its trip to
Florida.
In the first game, Nicole Anderson hurled a 16-strikeout shutout
performance over the Warriors in a 2-0 defeat. Jill
Gagnon went the distance in the loss, allowing three hits
in the complete game loss. Kelsey Ellis drilled
two of Merrimack’s five hits in three at-bats in the
defeat.
In the nightcap, Vicky Cotter surrendered two
first-inning runs while the Warriors managed just three hits, two
from Monique Gosselin. Jamie Rausch drove home the
two runs in the first with a triple to right field. Rachael Foster
went the distance, striking out ten, to improve to 10-1 for the
25th-ranked Rollins team.
Merrimack (7-5) hosts Saint Michael’s in the conference
opener Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Warrior Field.
