Mens Cross Country Picked Sixth in Northeast-10 Championship

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - The Merrimack men's cross country team was picked to finish sixth at the Northeast-10 Championship held this Sunday at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, VT.
Led by senior captain Chris Stanwyck (Chelmsford, MA) and freshman John Lawrence (Peabody, MA), the Warriors will match up against the other 14 Northeast-10 teams, with UMass Lowell picked to finish first overall, earning 10 first-place votes and 218 total votes.
The men's race kicks off at 10 a.m. with the eight-kilometer race.
Following the River Hawks was Stonehill with 214 points. The Skyhawks picked up four first-place votes. Southern Connecticut State University received the final first-place vote and earned 189 points in the poll. Bentley University and the College of Saint Rose round out the top five tied for fourth, as both teams received 151 points. Merrimack was right behind the Falcons and Golden Knights with 146 overall points.
Last year, UMass Lowell claimed both the men's and women's team championship titles. It marked the third straight title for the River Hawk's men's team and the first title for the women's team since 2005.
