Men's Cross Country Captures Shacklette Invitational Saturday by 1 Point

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Led by a first-place finish from Jefferson Welch (Haverhill, MA), the Merrimack cross country teams completed the sweep of the Shacklette Invitational as the men's team pulled out a one-point victory over Bryant University Saturday.

The men finished with 50 points, to Bryant’s 51, as Welch took first-place honors in 27:05.0. His teammate, Nicholas Santoro (Shrewsbury, MA), was 14-seconds behind him, finishing second.

The cross country team continues its fall season at the Codfish Bowl in Boston, MA next Saturday.
