Mens Soccer Plays to 0-0 Draw with Assumption

WORCESTER, MA – The Merrimack men’s soccer team,
ranked eighth in the east region, played to a 0-0 draw with
Assumption College Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors outshot the Greyhounds 12-6, led by four shots each
from Wayne Sygrove and Eric
Gomes, but goaltender Brendan Sullivan answered the task,
stopping six shots for the clean sheet.
Merrimack fired five shots in the first overtime to one for
Assumption but could not get the decisive goal.
Rob Pedra stopped one shot for his sixth shutout of the
season.
Merrimack (9-3-3, 6-3-2 NE-10) continues its charge to the
Northeast-10 Tournament when its hosts the 2007 defending National
Champion Franklin Pierce Saturday at 3 p.m. Before the game, the
Warriors will honor its senior class of 2009.
