Men’s Soccer Ranked First in East Region; Eighth in Nation

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Following a 3-0 start to the season, the Merrimack men's soccer team is ranked first in the East region and eighth in the nation.

In a region loaded with powerhouses such as Franklin Pierce, Dowling, Southern Connecticut and UMass Lowell, the Warriors 3-0 start propelled them to the top seed.

The top six teams in the region will make the NCAA Tournament at the end of the season.

The Warriors have been led by freshman Robbie Sabadoz (Ottawa, ON) who has tallied four goals in his first three collegiate games. Tiago Dalboni (Medford, MA) has a goal and two assists, while Wayne Sygrove (Yorkshire, England) has posted two goals.  Goaltender Rob Pedra (South Hamilton, MA) has a 1.66 goals-against and a .800 save percentage.

Merrimack has three home games this week, including a big conference matchup against UMass Lowell Wednesday at 7 p.m. and a big regional matchup against Dominican College on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the final game of the Merrimack Invitational.
