Men's Soccer Edges Post, 1-0

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack College men’s soccer team edged Post University, 1-0, on Sunday at Warrior Field. Senior Donnie Aylward (Groveland, MA) scored the only goal of the contest with 14:54 remaining in the first half.

Freshman Ayrton Haddad (Scarsdale, N.Y.) made seven saves for the Pioneers, while senior Jason Baker (Wells Beach, Maine) stopped each of the two shots he saw in net for the Warriors.

Tiago Dalboni’s (Medford, MA) rush on the goal with 15 minutes remaining in the first half, drew Haddad from the box, giving the junior the opportunity to dish the ball to Aylward, who had a wide open path to the net.

With the win, Merrimack improved its record to 7-1-1, and will return to action on Wednesday, when the team hosts American International College at 7 p.m.
