#4 Men’s Lacrosse Falls to #1 Le Moyne 10-2 in NE-10 Finals; Awaits Tonight’s Selection Show

SYRACUSE, NY – The top-ranked and unbeaten Le Moyne College Dolphins won their eighth Northeast-10 Championship in nine years, defeating the fourth-ranked Warriors 10-2 Sunday afternoon.

The Warriors (14-2) will await the 10 p.m. NCAA Division II Selection Show on CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV) to see if they are selected to their first-ever NCAA Final Four.

It appears Merrimack is competing with NYIT for the at-large berth in the Final Four. NYIT, who lost to Mercyhurst in their conference championship Saturday, has lost twice this season, as have the Warriors, but both Warrior losses have been to the top-ranked Dolphins. Le Moyne, C.W. Post, and Limestone are virtual locks for the Final Four as they are each ranked first in their respective regions.

Matt Chadderdon and Jack Venditti combined for nine goals, as the Dolphins jumped out a 6-0 lead before David Robinson got the visitors on the board with a third-quarter goal. Kevin Laplante also scored for Merrimack, with 1:42 to play in the third.

The Dolphins were 3-for-7 on the man-advantage, compared to 0-for-5 for the Warriors.

Greg Rogowski, who had a team-high five groundballs, was held scoreless, marking the first time the Northeast-10 Player of the Year did not score this season. Rogowski remains at 209 career goals, third all-time in Division II history and has 311 career points, fourth all-time.

Cory Spinale stopped 14 shots in the loss, while Doug McIver, the Northeast-10 Goaltender of the Year made 12 saves.
