#4 Mens Lacrosse Selected to First-Ever NCAA Final Four

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack men’s lacrosse
team is going to its first-ever NCAA Final Four, as announced late
Sunday night.
The Warriors are the one at-large team selected to the NCAA
Division II Men’s Lacrosse Final Four and will take on
top-ranked Le Moyne College on May 16 in Syracuse.
This marks the first time Merrimack has been selected to the NCAA
field in program history. The Warriors were 14-2 this season,
losing both games to top-ranked and unbeaten Le Moyne. They lost
5-4 on April 11 in North Andover and 10-2 earlier Sunday in the
Northeast-10 Championship.
Other teams in the Final Four are C.W. Post and Limestone, who will
battle on May 16 in Brookville, New York.
The winners of the NCAA Semifinals will play in the National
Championship on May 24 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
The Warriors are led by the three-time All-American and the
Northeast-10 Player of the Year Greg Rogowski (Cohoes,
NY), who led the conference with 52 goals and 82 points
this season. Rogowski sits at 209 career goals, third all-time in
Division II history and has 311 career points, fourth all-time.
Other key players to the 14 win season include first-team
all-conference selections Jo Pisano (Dedham, MA)
and Michael Miano (Branford, CT). All-American
Cory Spinale (Wakefield, MA) was named to the
second-team all-conference as were Mark Webber (Mansfield,
MA) and Michael Balbuena (Falmouth,
MA).
This will mark the first time Merrimack will play the same opponent
three times in a season.
The Dolphins are headed to their eighth straight Final Four after
their eighth conference championship in nine years. Last season, Le
Moyne defeated Bryant in the NCAA Semifinals, before falling to
NYIT in the championship.
