Karl Stollery Named Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Sophomore defenseman Karl Stollery (Camrose, AB) was named the Hockey East Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Stollery becomes the second Warrior to earn a weekly honor in as many weeks, as Stephane Da Costa (Paris, France) was the conference's Player of the Week last week.

Stollery tallied four assists, two each in wins over #7 Vermont and Connecticut, leading a Merrimack defense that posted 12 points in the two victories over the weekend.

Merrimack (4-2, 1-0), who is 4-0 at home for the first time since joining Hockey East, looks to continue its early-season success when its battles #14/15 Boston College in a home-and-home series, beginning Friday at Conte Forum at 7 p.m. and continuing Sunday at Lawler Arena at 4 p.m.
