WAKEFIELD, MA. – Goaltender Andrew Braithwaite rounded out a stellar sophomore season by being named to the Hockey East Academic All-Star Team.

Merrimack Recruits Joe Cannata and Jeff Velleca Recently Featured by USA Hockey and New England Hockey Journal
Come October, both Joe Cannata and Jeff Velleca will be suiting up for their first collegiate hockey game for Merrimack College. Cannata, ranked 13th among all eligible goaltenders for this year's NHL draft, spent the 2007-08 season playing against the best national and international competition as the starting goaltender for the US Under-18 Development Program. Velleca, meanwhile, had an all-star season, leading the New Hampshire Monarchs to the EJHL Championship, while becoming an inspiration to a former teammate, Ryan Mendez, who suffered a massive brain stem stroke.
