Zubkus Nabs Division II Rookie of the Week

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – For her role in the program’s
first trip to the Northeast-10 Conference semifinal, freshman
Katie Zubkus (Dover, NH) of the Merrimack field
hockey team was named Division II Rookie of the Week by
womensfieldhockey.com.
Helping enforce the midfield for the Warriors, Zubkus assisted on
the eventual game-winner in a quarterfinal win over Adelphi
University, 2-1. The win marked a three-game season sweep of the
Panthers and two within a one week span at Warrior Field.
On the year, Zubkus energized a Merrimack offense that ranked
second in the conference in scoring (3.03 goals per game). With
nine points in her first year in North Andover, she scored three
goals and three assists as part of a highly talented freshman
class.
