Otis Named Back-to-Back Division II Freshman of the Week

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Following back-to-back Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week honors, Merrimack’s Jen Otis (Penacook, NH) has been named the two-time Division II Field Hockey Freshman of the Week by Womensfieldhockey.com.
Otis repeats as Rookie of the Week after helping the Warriors
post a 2-1 week. She had two goals and two assists in the three
games as Merrimack notched wins over league rivals Assumption and
Adelphi.
The week before, Otis helped the Warriors to an unbeaten week with
three victories, scoring a goal in each contest, including the
game-winner against Southern Connecticut and Franklin Pierce, while
assisting on the game-winner against St. Anselm at home.
Tied for a team-best 19 points with classmate April
Daugherty (Lincoln, RI), Otis is tops in the Northeast-10
Conference among freshman scorers with seven goals.
Merrimack, whom plays host to Southern Connecticut today at 3:00pm
at Warrior Field, looks to extend the best home-field start (4-1)
in program history over the past six years.
