Four Named to D2Football.com Preseason All-Conference Team

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – With preseason camp underway, four
Merrimack football players were named to the D2Football.com
Preseason All-Northeast-10 Conference team Monday.
Three offensive players, Jacob Bradley (Dorchester, MA),
David Bellmont (Melrose, MA) and Jeremiah Watts
(Clovis, CA) join linebacker Tony Johnson (Lynn,
MA) on the preseason squad.
Bellmont and Watts, both first-team all-conference selections in
2008, each are preseason All-American honorable mentions by
Consensus Draft Services. Along with Bellmont, Bradley was part of
an offensive line that allowed just 15 sacks last season, tied for
fewest in the conference.
Johnson, the lone sophomore to make the team, led the country with
1.25 sacks per game as a freshman and set the school record with
11.5 total sacks in his freshman campaign.
Under second-year head coach John Perry, the
Warriors opened camp on Sunday, taking the field for the first time
Sunday night.
The 2009 season opener is September 5 against American
International at 6 p.m. at Warrior Field.
