Andrew Jackson Named Football Gazette All-American

NORTH ANDOVER, MA. – Andrew Jackson (New Britain,
CT) earned his second All-American selection Friday, being
named to the Football Gazette All-America Team as a third team
selection.
Jackson, who was a first-team selection on the AFCA All-American
Team, is the only player from the Northeast-10 Conference included
among the 158 student-athletes named to the Football Gazette
team.
A Preseason All-American by Consensus Draft Services as a kick
returner, Jackson recorded 58 tackles, five interceptions and 10
pass breakups in 2008. He became the first player in school history
to score a touchdown on offense, defense and special teams in a
career and holds the school record with 17 interceptions. Jackson
was also named to the Northeast-10 Conference first team, second
team all-region by Daktronics, and to the 2008 New England Football
Writers Division II/III All-New England team.
He finishes his career as a four-time Northeast-10 first-team
All-Conference selection and a four-time All-New England selection.
Jackson, who was a D2Football.com All-American honorable mention in
2005, tallied eight career touchdowns on special teams.
