Jackson and Watts Named to All-New England Team

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Senior Andrew Jackson (New
Britain, CT) and junior Jeremiah Watts (Clovis,
CA) were among 28 players representing 17 teams that were
named to the 2008 New England Football Writers Division II/III
All-New England team.
Jackson, a first-team Northeast-10 selection as a return specialist
and defensive back, returned two punts and one kickoff for
touchdowns this season. He totaled five interceptions, second on
the team, and was the NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week after
getting two picks against Bryant. A Preseason All-American and a
four-time all-conference selection, he made six catches as a wide
out and also rushed for a 39-yard touchdown against American
International. Jackson is the only player named to two positions on
the team.
Also a Northeast-10 first team honoree, Watts tallied 72 receptions
for 924 yards and nine touchdowns, while ranking tied for eighth in
the nation with 7.1 receptions per game. His 92.5 receiving yards
per game rank fourth nationally.
The Northeast 10 had 12 players selected while from Division III,
the New England Football Conference had eight selections. The New
England Small College Athletic Conference had six
representatives.
The team will be honored at the New England Football Writers
Banquet on Thursday, December 11 at Casa di Fiore in Wilmington.
