O’Brien, Suozzo Earn Weekly Conference Honors

SOUTH EASTON, MA – Mike O’Brien (Marlboro, MA) and James Suozzo (Everett, MA) were named Northeast-10 Players of the Week.

O’Brien earned the Defensive Player of the Week award for the second time this season, while Suozzo picked up Freshman of the Week honors for the second time.

O’Brien tallied two interceptions for the second time this season, leading Merrimack to a 27-11 win over Bentley. He has four on the year, second in the conference.

Making his third start of the season, Suozzo was 17-of-32 passing for 231 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 43 yards.

The Warriors have had nine Northeast-10 weekly awards in seven weeks of football this season. Merrimack (4-3, 3-2 NE-10) is at Stonehill on Saturday at 1 p.m.
