Kristi Stake enters her second year as the Assistant Athletic
Director for Compliance at Merrimack College.
Stake previously worked at Northeastern University as the
Assistant Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare, where
she coordinated athletic outreach, student-athlete life skills, and
community service and assisted with department-wide compliance
issues.
She spent six years at the University of Louisiana Lafayette in a
variety of roles. From 2005 to 2007, Stake was the Assistant
Athletic Director for Compliance. She also assisted with the
Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and coordinated the
travel for and travelled with football and men’s basketball.
Stake served as the Academic Counselor and Eligibility Coordinator
from 2002 to 2004. She assisted student-athletes with academic
problems, career decisions, class scheduling and life decisions
while revamping the tutoring program and teaching an academic
skills class. Stake also served as the Learning Center Coordinator
and Academic Counselor during the 2001-02 academic year.
In 2007, she lived at St Thomas on the Virgin Islands raising her
newborn daughter, Evelyn while her husband, Dr. Joel Stake,
conducted research on coral reefs.
Stake graduated from Louisiana College, Pineville with a Bachelor
Degree in Journalism in 1999. She earned her Masters of Science in
Communications from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette in
2003.
Stake and husband Joel reside in Hudson, New Hampshire with their
daughter Evelyn.
